About Dr. Michael D. Ross

Dr. Michael D. Ross is a marketing strategist, consultant, researcher, and educator with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning Fortune 500 corporations, higher education, and entrepreneurial consulting. As Founder and President of MDR Consulting, he helps organizations solve complex marketing and sales challenges through practical strategy, innovative research, and customer-focused insights.

Dr. Ross currently serves as Associate Professor of Marketing at Asbury University’s Dayton School of Business, where he also serves as Director of the Mentor Program and previously led the MBA Program. He has also taught marketing at the University of Kentucky and Sullivan University.

He earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Marketing from Anderson University, with research focused on disruptive technology adoption and marketing strategy. He also holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Before founding MDR Consulting, Dr. Ross spent nearly two decades in senior leadership roles at Lexmark International, leading strategic planning and marketing research initiatives supporting more than $2 billion in annual North American revenue. His expertise includes marketing strategy, CRM and sales technologies, customer loyalty, brand positioning, and advanced marketing analytics.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ross has received numerous professional honors, including the Security Industry Association (SIA) New Product Award and multiple excellence awards from Lexmark International. He remains active in academic research and professional speaking, with recent presentations focused on artificial intelligence, marketing strategy, and customer engagement.
